During her keynote, Heike Drechsler spoke not only about her achievements, but also about the challenges she encountered along the way. Her experiences touched on themes that extend far beyond elite sport: navigating change, overcoming setbacks, and staying committed to long-term goals.
“Of course, most people know Heike Drechsler for her sporting achievements. What I found particularly fascinating were her insights into the periods when things did not go according to plan. Topics such as change, setbacks, and the long and often challenging road towards a goal are something all of us can relate to. It was truly inspiring to hear how she dealt with these experiences. I also greatly appreciated the fact that Heike later joined our employees at the Flugfeld Run,” said Jochen Schlindwein, CEO and Managing Director of Wörwag Pharma, who took part in the run himself.

From the Stage to the Starting Line
Following the keynote, the event moved from the conference room to the Flugfeld grounds. There, Heike Drechsler laced up her running shoes and joined numerous Wörwag Pharma employees at the start of the annual Flugfeld Run. Rather than watching from the sidelines as a guest of honour, she became part of the field, sharing the experience with colleagues and employees alike.

Participating in the Flugfeld Run has long been a valued tradition at Wörwag Pharma’s Böblingen site. This year, employees enjoyed a unique opportunity: meeting an Olympic champion, exchanging ideas and experiences with her, and just a few hours later standing alongside her at the starting line.
The visit created a memorable connection between elite sport and everyday working life, demonstrating that perseverance, resilience, and the courage to keep moving forward are qualities that matter both on the track and in business.
