Wörwag Pharma - a mid-sized family business
For 40 years WÖRWAG Pharma stands for competence and expertise in the fields of biofactors and generics. We have established our reputation here as a specialist in the treatment of diabetes and its accompanying disorders.
In 1965, Dr. Fritz Wörwag founded the City Pharmacy in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. As early as 1971, this visionary businessman expanded the business into the area of biofactors with the Magnerot Classic compound. The second focus - therapy with benfothiamine - was added in 1985.

Focussed product launches, motivated employees as well as the move into other European countries have ensured constant growth. The road from the local pharmacy to a mid-sized family business was engaged. A generational change followed in 2000 - Monika Wörwag and Dr. Marcus Wörwag took over leadership of the business. In 2008, Roland Spleiss joined them as an additional Managing Director.
